Associate Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Grants – Online Learning Consortium

Alex Case was named OLC Associate Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Grants in November 2020. His responsibilities include growing OLC’s reach in the areas of grants, strategic partnerships, and consulting, particularly in the growing international and K-12 sectors. Prior to joining the OLC, Alex served as the Interim Director of Student Services (Dean of Students) and Associate Director of Instructional Design and Development for the Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) Online program. At NOVA, Alex oversaw an online portfolio of 400 online asynchronous courses spanning all academic pathways and serving 23,000 students per year.
Maya Georgieva
Director of Education Futures / XReality Center – The New School
Maya Georgieva is a futurist, XR strategist, immersive storyteller, producer, and a sought-after keynote speaker on the future of Immersive Learning and Innovation in creative industries. As the Director of Education Futures and the XReality Center at the New School, Maya provides strategic leadership in creating a culture and capacity for innovative design with emerging technologies, including XR and AI. Maya leads a team driving new media and innovation focused on immersive storytelling, spatial computing, future interfaces, and design. She regularly guest-teaches at The Parsons School of Design. Maya is the co-author of the State of XR and Immersive Learning report. She is the co-author of the pioneering EDUCAUSE series, VR and AR: Stepping into the New Frontier of Learning and has authored white papers on the future of Higher Education and Immersive Learning.
Ryan Straight
 
Ryan M. Straight, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor in Applied Computing & Cyber Operations and Director of MA{VR}X Virtual Reality Lab – University of Arizona

Dr. Ryan Straight is an award-winning educator, writer, and researcher. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona. He is co-program director of the Master of Science and undergraduate minor programs in Educational Technology and teaches in the Applied Computing and Cyber Operations undergraduate programs. He also teaches an annual freshman seminar, Cyborgs and Transhumanism, in the Honors College. He holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Ohio University, where he also earned his M.Ed. in Cultural Studies in Education and a BS.Ed in Integrated Language Arts. Dr. Straight also serves as a Social Media Advisor for ISTE and writes for the Chronicle of Higher Education on mobile learning technologies, augmented reality, and social presence in online education.

Dean of E-learning Deanship – King Khalid University

Dr. Adel Ibrahim Qahmash is the dean of E-learning deanship at King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia. The eLearning Deanship (ELD) at King Khalid University was established in the year 2008 as part of the continuous University efforts to provide the latest scientific methodologies to improve the educational process. Dr. Qahmash is also the director of the learning analytics unit. He is interested in innovation in online learning, platforms, and learning analytics.
