Dean Croll, Senior Learning Engineer – Acrobatiq

As Acrobatiq’s Senior Learning Engineer, Dean Croll oversees the company’s learning science-based instructional design and course development initiatives. With more than 20 years’ experience in information technology, curriculum development and online learning, Dean works closely with Acrobatiq clients to develop highly effective and data-informed learning experiences for online, blended and competency-based education programs. Dean’s passion and interest in fine art and graphic design enable him to bring a unique blend of analytical and creative skills to curriculum and program development. 
Dean holds a BS in Information Science from Slippery Rock University.

 

Whitney Kilgore, Ph.D., Chief Academic Officer – iDesign

Whitney Kilgore is the Chief Academic Officer at iDesign, which partners with universities to build, grow and support online and blended courses and program offerings. She previously served as Vice President of Academic Services Domestic and International for Academic Partnerships and before that as the director of academic technology services at the College of Southern Nevada. Whitney has a PhD in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas, a post-graduate certificate in Educational Technology Leadership from George Washington University, and holds a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A & M Corpus Christi.

 

Barton K. Pursel, Ph.D., Faculty Programs – Penn State University

Dr. Pursel serves as the manager of the Faculty Programs team within Teaching and Learning with Technology at Penn State. In this role, he works with a network of faculty in order to connect points of intelligence, insight, energy and knowledge-sharing across the Penn State Community. Dr. Pursel is also an Affiliate Faculty member in the College of Information Sciences and Technology where he teaches Video Game Design and Development, and a co-Director of the Center for Online Innovations in Learning (COIL). Coming from a diverse background of instructional design, teaching and research, Dr. Pursel’s interests reside at the intersection of technology and pedagogy, examining how technology impacts teaching and learning. Dr. Pursel’s current projects focus on areas such as Learning Analytics, Rapid Course Prototyping,  Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), and Educational Gaming.
