Now your OLC professional development takes you further! Not only will you earn professional certificates in online teaching and key online learning topics, you will also be earning credits toward advanced college degrees.

OLC and Lamar University have collaborated to provide you with a unique opportunity to earn up to 6 graduate credit hours for completed OLC professional development. These credits are transferable to many higher education institutions worldwide, or they can be applied toward select Lamar University programs. Check with your institution regarding credit-hour transfer eligibility.

Which OLC Programs Qualify?

OLC Certificate programs, Mastery Series programs and select OLC workshops qualify for graduate credits at Lamar University.

Earn up to 6 credit hours with OLC Online Teaching Certificates:

Earn up to 3 credit hours with OLC Mastery Series Programs or select workshops:

  • OLC Mastery Series Programs:
    • 3 hours of graduate credit for completing any of the OLC Mastery Series. Topics include: Online Science Labs, Online Nursing, Instructional Design, and Leadership in Online Learning. Upon successful completion of the program, you will earn a Recognition of Mastery in your chosen topic. 

OR

  • OLC Workshops:
    • 3 hours of graduate credit for five (1-week or longer) workshops. Workshops that are less than 1 week do not qualify.

Graduate credits offered through the OLC/Lamar University partnership are surprisingly affordable. Graduate credits are provided tuition-free. Each credit incurs a $100 per credit hour transcription fee. Credit for OLC Workshops incurs a $100 portfolio evaluation fee in addition to the standard transcription fee. Costs for OLC qualified programs vary. 

How do I get started?

Sign up for any of the OLC-qualified programs to earn your OLC Certificate or Recognition of Mastery in your chosen topic. Upon successful completion of the program, OLC will issue you a certificate.
